Mixel, a subsidiary of Silvaco Group (NASDAQ: SVCO), announced its MIPI IP has been integrated into automotive radar processor and monolithic microwave integrated circuit products from indie (NASDAQ: INDI).

The integration includes Mixel's ASIL-B compliant MIPI D-PHY CSI-2 TX and RX IPs, designed to support AEC-Q100 Automotive Grade 1 standards. Mixel provided certified automotive functional safety deliverables and a safety manual as part of the implementation.

Indie develops custom front-end modules and MMICs for automotive applications including front-looking and corner radar, collision detection, automated emergency braking, and in-cabin occupant monitoring systems. The company's radar solutions support advanced driver assistance and automated technologies across vehicle segments.

"We needed a MIPI IP provider that could support our strict automotive requirements to further our radar portfolio and enable efficient and scalable ADAS architecture solutions," said Peter Gulden, EVP Radar Systems and Software at indie.

Mixel completed characterization of its IP based on the MIPI Alliance's D-PHY Conformance Test Suite and provided a characterization report to indie. The company received ISO 26262 process and product certifications for automotive functional safety in 2021.

According to the companies, Mixel MIPI PHY IP has been silicon-proven at twelve different nodes and nine different foundries. Mixel's automotive MIPI D-PHY CSI-2 TX and RX IP products are currently available.

Silvaco acquired Mixel as part of its portfolio of TCAD, EDA software, and silicon IP solutions for semiconductor design. The announcement was made in a joint press release from the companies.
