Mavenir and Turkcell (NYSE: TKC) (BIST: TCELL) signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate deployment of voice and messaging AI applications on the Turkish telecommunications company's mobile network.
The partnership will utilize Mavenir's cloud-native IMS architecture to develop AI-powered services for Turkcell's customers. The collaboration focuses on embedding AI directly into mobile core networks to enable new voice and messaging capabilities.
"At Turkcell, we continuously explore how network innovation can translate into high-quality customer experiences and operational efficiency. This partnership with Mavenir, adopting their AI-by-design approach and cloud-native expertise, will accelerate our delivery of cutting-edge technology," said Prof. Dr. Vehbi Çağrı Güngör, Chief Technology Officer of Turkcell.
Brandon Larson, Mavenir's SVP & General Manager, Cloud, AI & IMS Business Strategy, stated: "There is real power in AI when it's delivered with a clear focus on solving a problem and adding real customer value – Turkcell has specific objectives it is seeking to reach, not least of which is the power to introduce exciting new services."
The partnership aims to create AI-based value-added services including premium AI voice and messaging services, AI-powered customer care, and tiered consumer AI subscriptions. The companies plan to integrate intelligence directly into core services rather than through over-the-top applications.
Turkcell operates in Turkey, Belarus and Northern Cyprus and has been dual-listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Borsa Istanbul since July 2000. Mavenir reports deployments with over 300 mobile operators globally across more than 120 countries.
