Lantronix supplies computing solution for army-approved Teal drones

Lantronix Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX) announced that Teal Drones, a Red Cat Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: RCAT) subsidiary, selected its computing solution for production of Black Widow drones under the U.S. Army's Short-Range Reconnaissance Program. Lantronix has begun production shipments for the defense contract.
The Lantronix solution uses the Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB5165 processor and meets Trade Agreements Act and National Defense Authorization Act compliance requirements for Department of Defense missions. Teal Drones operates as a Blue UAS-approved small Unmanned Aerial Systems vendor, requiring adherence to cybersecurity, operational and safety standards for DoD use.
"Lantronix's solution enables us to meet the U.S. Army's rigorous TAA and NDAA compliance standards under the SRR Program," said Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat.
The partnership positions Lantronix in the defense drone market as the global drone market is projected to reach $57.8 billion by 2030, according to Drone Industry Insights' 2025-2030 Global Drone Market Report cited in the company's press release.
Saleel Awsare, CEO of Lantronix, stated the collaboration demonstrates the company's ability to deliver compliant, high-performance products for the drone sector. The Irvine, California-based company provides compute and connectivity solutions for Internet of Things applications.
Red Cat Holdings develops drone and robotic solutions for defense and national security through subsidiaries including Teal Drones and FlightWave Aerospace. The company manufactures American-made hardware and software for military, government, and public safety operations.
