Intuitive Machines Inc. (NASDAQ: LUNR) completed its acquisition of KinetX Inc., a company specializing in deep space navigation and systems engineering, according to a company statement.
The transaction was valued at $30 million before closing adjustments, consisting of approximately $15 million in cash and about 1.4 million shares of Intuitive Machines common stock. KinetX operates from locations including Houston, Phoenix and Maryland.
KinetX holds NASA certification for deep space navigation and has provided navigation services for planetary missions to Mercury, Pluto, asteroids and the Moon. The company supports NASA and other space agencies with mission design and navigation technology.
"By uniting deep space navigation and data services, we're giving customers the confidence to securely operate across the solar system with precision and autonomy so they can explore and innovate faster," said Intuitive Machines CEO Steve Altemus.
The acquisition extends Intuitive Machines' operations across multiple U.S. locations and combines KinetX's navigation capabilities with the company's existing lunar spacecraft and data network services.
Intuitive Machines focuses on lunar access technology and successfully landed a spacecraft on the Moon in 2024, marking the first U.S. lunar landing since 1972. The company returned to the lunar south pole with a second lander in 2025.
