Infosys (NYSE: INFY) announced a strategic collaboration with Cognition to integrate the AI software engineer Devin across its global operations and client engagements. The partnership combines Devin's autonomous coding capabilities with Infosys Topaz Fabric, the company's AI services platform.
Infosys has used Devin for six months and reported improvements in engineering quality and efficiency. The company will now deploy Devin within its internal engineering teams, client delivery models, and customer environments. Infosys employs over 320,000 people and serves clients in 59 countries.
The collaboration focuses on automating legacy system modernization, technical debt reduction, and maintenance challenges. Infosys and Cognition plan to develop industry-specific solutions and AI-native modernization frameworks. The Financial Services practice is leading initial client implementations across banking, payments, capital markets, insurance, and wealth management sectors.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Infosys to bring the power of autonomous and agentic AI engineering to some of the world's most complex enterprises," said Scott Wu, founder and CEO of Cognition. "Infosys is the first large digital services and consulting firm to deploy agentic tools at this scale."
Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, stated that the collaboration represents "a significant step forward in accelerating AI value realization for global enterprises" by combining Cognition's engineering expertise with Infosys's domain capabilities.
Cognition develops Devin, which the company describes as the first AI software engineer. The startup is led by engineers and former company leaders from AI-focused organizations. The information is based on a company press release statement.
