IQVIA (NYSE: IQV) and Flagship Pioneering announced a strategic collaboration to support the development of life sciences companies within Flagship's portfolio, according to a press release issued by the companies.
The partnership will provide Flagship's ecosystem of biopharma companies access to IQVIA's clinical research services, analytics, and domain expertise across drug development from discovery through commercialization. The collaboration focuses on three areas: drug development strategy and analytics, clinical development, and asset valuation and due diligence.
IQVIA will utilize its artificial intelligence, analytics, and clinical trial capabilities to support Flagship's portfolio companies. The collaboration aims to create what the companies describe as a more efficient approach to drug development and early commercial viability assessment.
"Working with Flagship Pioneering to foster the development of emerging biopharma companies that will advance the development of life-saving therapies fits squarely within IQVIA's mission to accelerate innovations for a healthier world and bring better treatments to patients faster," said Rob Kotchie, president of Real World Solutions at IQVIA.
David Khougazian, Executive Partner at Flagship Pioneering, stated that the collaboration "brings enormous value to our platform companies by providing them the potential to greatly expand their reach and impact."
Flagship Pioneering operates with $14 billion of assets under management as of July 2024. The company's current ecosystem includes over 40 companies, including publicly traded firms such as Foghorn Therapeutics (NASDAQ: FHTX), Moderna (NASDAQ: MRNA), and Sana Biotechnology (NASDAQ: SANA).
IQVIA provides clinical research services, commercial insights, and healthcare intelligence to life sciences companies, employing approximately 88,000 people across over 100 countries.
