Humanoid Global commits $145,000 investment in Agility Robotics
Humanoid Global Holdings Corp. (CSE: ROBO, FWB: 0XM1, OTCPK: RBOHF) announced a commitment to invest $145,000 indirectly in Agility Robotics through a fund that holds shares of the humanoid robot developer.
Agility Robotics, founded in 2015 as a spin-off from Oregon State University, develops humanoid robots for commercial deployment. The company operates what it describes as the first dedicated humanoid robot factory in Oregon and has robots in use by Fortune 500 companies.
The company's flagship robot, Digit, can carry up to 35 pounds, operate in narrow aisles, has a 5.5-foot operational range, and runs for up to 4 hours between autonomous charges. The robot is designed to work in spaces intended for human use and handles tasks in distribution and fulfillment operations.
Agility Robotics completed a $150 million funding round in 2022. According to a 2024 Deloitte and Manufacturing Institute study cited in the announcement, 1.9 million manufacturing jobs could remain unfilled in U.S. warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing.
"This investment provides exposure to a company that is advancing robotics while also enabling collaborative applications between humans and machines in the workplace," said Shahab Samimi, CEO of Humanoid Global.
The investment has not been completed and remains subject to customary closing conditions. Humanoid Global stated it will provide additional details about the investment and fund in a future announcement.
Humanoid Global describes itself as a publicly traded investment company focused on building a portfolio of companies in the humanoid robotics and artificial intelligence sector.
