Evoke Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ: EVOK) announced partnerships with Omnicell Inc. (NASDAQ: OMCL) and Brentwood Pharmacy to expand patient access to GIMOTI, its nasal spray treatment for diabetic gastroparesis.
The Omnicell relationship targets large gastroenterology practices, including Gastro Health, which operates 150 locations across seven states. Omnicell manages specialty pharmacies affiliated with gastrointestinal physician organizations. The partnership is expected to nearly double the number of specialty pharmacies dispensing GIMOTI.
Through a separate agreement with EVERSANA, Evoke gained access to Brentwood Pharmacy, which serves OneGI, a gastroenterology network spanning Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Mississippi and surrounding states. OneGI manages approximately 200 gastroenterologists and physician assistants across more than 30 offices.
"Adding Omnicell as a pharmacy manager is a direct reflection of the strategy we've shared publicly — to improve patient access by aligning with the specialty pharmacies GI physicians trust and use every day," said Matt D'Onofrio, Chief Executive Officer of Evoke Pharma.
GIMOTI is the only FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with acute and recurrent diabetic gastroparesis. The drug provides an alternative to oral and injectable forms of metoclopramide, which can be compromised by delayed gastric emptying associated with gastroparesis.
Evoke focuses on developing treatments for gastrointestinal diseases. The company commercialized GIMOTI after receiving FDA approval for the nasal spray formulation of metoclopramide.
