EuroHoldings extends charters for two feeder containerships
EuroHoldings Ltd. (NASDAQ: EHLD) has announced time charter contract extensions for two of its feeder containerships, M/V Joanna and M/V Aegean Express, according to a press release from the Athens-based company.
The 1,732-TEU M/V Joanna has been extended for a minimum of 30 months, with up to an additional 20 days at the charterer's option, at a gross daily rate of $24,000. The new period begins December 2, 2026.
The 1,439-TEU M/V Aegean Express has been extended for a period of 24 to 26 months at the charterer's option, at a gross daily rate of $20,500, commencing January 1, 2027.
Both rates represent increases over the vessels' current charter rates. M/V Joanna's current rate is $16,500 per day, while M/V Aegean Express is currently chartered at $16,700 per day.
Chairman and CEO Aristides Pittas stated that the two charters combined are expected to generate approximately $24 million of EBITDA over the minimum contracted period. He added that the extensions will increase the company's charter coverage for 2026, 2027, and 2028 to approximately 79%, 48%, and 47%, respectively.
EuroHoldings operates a fleet of two feeder container carriers with a combined capacity of 3,171 TEU and two medium-range product tankers with a combined capacity of 99,994 deadweight tons, pending delivery of M/T Hellas Fighter, which is expected to join the fleet in September 2026.
