DuPont appoints Grainger CEO D.G. Macpherson to board of directors

DuPont (NYSE: DD) announced the appointment of D.G. Macpherson to its board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company press release.



Macpherson serves as chairman and chief executive officer of W.W. Grainger Inc., a distributor of maintenance, repair and operations products and services operating primarily in North America and Japan. He has held the CEO position at Grainger for 10 years.



"D.G. brings deep expertise in operational excellence, supply chain optimization, and business transformation," said Lori Koch, DuPont chief executive officer.



Before becoming Grainger's CEO, Macpherson held various leadership roles at the company including chief operating officer and senior vice president. He joined Grainger in 2008 after working as a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group, where he previously served as a consultant to Grainger on strategic and operational projects.



Macpherson holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. He served on International Paper Company's board of directors from 2021 to 2024.



DuPont operates in healthcare, water, construction and transportation markets. The company is based in Wilmington, Delaware.
