BitMine Immersion Technologies (NYSE AMERICAN: BMNR) announced that David Sharbutt has been elected to its board of directors.

Sharbutt served 17 years on American Tower Corporation's (NYSE: AMT) board from 2006 to 2023. He founded Alamosa Holdings, which became a public company in 2000 and grew to operate in 22 states with revenues exceeding $1 billion before Sprint acquired it in 2006.

"Adding David's operational experience as one of the original wireless services entrepreneurs building Alamosa PCS into a multi-billion Sprint PCS affiliate, and his 17 years of service as a Board member for American Tower Corporation makes him the perfect addition to our board," said Thomas Lee, chairman of BitMine.

Sharbutt currently serves as chair and primary owner of Edit Holdings, which operates Tide Dry Cleaners locations in Houston, Austin, Lubbock, Amarillo, Colorado Springs and Denver.

BitMine reported crypto and cash holdings exceeding $9 billion as of August 27, comprising 1.79 million ETH tokens valued at $4,591 per token, 192 Bitcoin, and $775 million in cash. The company launched its ETH treasury strategy on June 30.
