DarioHealth Corp. (NASDAQ: DRIO) announced a strategic collaboration with OneStep to integrate smartphone-based fall risk assessment technology into its digital health platform. The companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding and expect to complete a Master Services Agreement in the coming weeks.

OneStep's FDA-listed platform uses smartphone motion-analysis technology to deliver clinical-grade gait and mobility insights without requiring wearables or sensors. The collaboration aims to provide fall risk identification and prevention capabilities for DarioHealth's members, particularly those with obesity and Medicare Advantage populations with frailty and balance issues.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, falls generate more than $50 billion annually in direct medical costs in the United States, with Medicare and Medicaid covering approximately 75% of this burden. The National Institutes of Health identifies obesity as a significant risk factor for falls among older adults due to poor balance performance and impaired postural stability.

"OneStep's clinical-grade fall risk assessment, requiring no wearables, sensors or calibration, will provide Dario's members with mobility insights that are both scientifically rigorous and easy to act on," said Steven Nelson, DarioHealth's President and Chief Commercial Officer.

Rachel Lissak, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at OneStep, stated that the collaboration brings "movement as a vital sign" into DarioHealth's ecosystem to enable proactive care for high-risk members.

The U.S. fall management market was valued at nearly $200 million in 2024 and is projected to grow to more than $300 million by 2033, representing a compound annual growth rate of over 5%.

DarioHealth provides digital health solutions for chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, weight management, and behavioral health to health plans, employers, and healthcare providers.
