CURRENC Capital Inc., a subsidiary of Currenc Group Inc. (NASDAQ: CURR), announced a strategic partnership agreement with Securitize Corp. (NYSE: SECZ) to work with listed companies evaluating issuer-sponsored tokenization of public-company shares.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work with select listed companies exploring an approach in which the issuer itself authorizes and sponsors the onchain representation of its shares. Securitize, through its regulated affiliates, may provide participating issuers with tokenization and related capital-markets infrastructure, according to a press release.
The partnership follows Currenc's tokenization of its ordinary shares on the Ethereum and Solana blockchains in April 2026, which the company said made it one of the first Nasdaq-listed companies to support onchain ownership of its equity.
"Having brought CURR shares onchain, we understand the operational, legal and communications considerations public companies must evaluate when pursuing tokenization," said Alex Kong, Founder, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Currenc.
"Public equities are one of the next major asset categories that can benefit from tokenization, but they need to move onchain through regulated, issuer-sponsored infrastructure that preserves the rights of the underlying security," said Carlos Domingo, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Securitize.
Securitize reported approximately $5 billion in assets under management as of August 2026. The company operates regulated digital-securities infrastructure in both the U.S. and the European Union.
CURRENC Capital was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Currenc to focus on issuer-sponsored tokenization of public-company shares and related strategic partnerships.
