Construction Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROAD) has acquired eight hot-mix asphalt plants and related crews and equipment in the Houston metro area from affiliates of Vulcan Materials Company (NYSE: VMC), the company announced.
The acquired operations will become part of Durwood Greene Construction Co., which Construction Partners purchased in August 2025. The transaction expands Construction Partners' presence in the Houston asphalt market.
"Today's acquisition significantly expands our operations in the fast-growing Houston area while reinforcing CPI's strategy of building better markets and strategically growing our geographic footprint in Texas," said Fred J. Smith III, the company's president and chief executive officer.
The acquisition includes asphalt production assets along with crews and equipment. Smith stated the addition provides management at Durwood Greene with tools to increase production and serve customers across a broader geographic area.
Construction Partners is a civil infrastructure company that operates in local markets throughout the Sunbelt region, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The company focuses on construction, repair and maintenance of surface infrastructure, with publicly funded projects comprising the majority of its business.
The company's projects include local and state roadways, interstate highways, airport runways and bridges, as well as private sector paving and sitework for commercial and residential developments.
