Canopy Growth Corporation (TSX: WEED) (NASDAQ: CGC) appointed Tom Stewart as interim chief financial officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement.

Stewart replaces Judy Hong, who served as CFO since April 2022. The company thanked Hong for her role in improving its capital structure and financial position during her tenure.

Stewart joined Canopy Growth in 2019 as chief accounting officer after spending 10 years in finance roles at Constellation Brands, Inc. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and holds CPA certification in New York state.

"Tom has been a core member of our finance leadership team and is the right person to step into this role at a critical time," said CEO Luc Mongeau in the statement.

The appointment supports the company's fiscal 2026 strategy, which focuses on operational efficiency, disciplined capital management, and building a sustainable business model. Stewart's background includes over 20 years of experience in operational finance, accounting, and performance management with public companies.

"My focus will be on disciplined execution, fundamentals, and building a strong financial platform as we pursue profitable growth," Stewart said.

Canopy Growth has initiated a search for a permanent CFO. The Smiths Falls, Ontario-based cannabis company operates in Canada, Europe, and Australia, and maintains interests in U.S. cannabis operations through Canopy USA.
