The transportation company achieved annual infrastructure savings through the transformation, according to the companies. The new platform establishes a foundation for predictive analytics and logistics optimization.

"Collaborating with Infosys Topaz and Microsoft has enabled CSX to fundamentally transform our data landscape," said John Maio, AVP of Enterprise Data & Analytics at CSX Corporation. "This transformation not only saved us thousands of hours through automation but also laid the foundation for a data-driven culture across our organization."

Arun Ulag, President of Azure Data at Microsoft, said the project demonstrates Microsoft Fabric's ability to modernize enterprise data systems. The collaboration helped CSX accelerate analytics and enable real-time decision-making across business operations.

Karmesh Vaswani, EVP and Global Head of Consumer, Retail & Logistics at Infosys, described the project as reflecting the company's focus on helping enterprises implement AI-first strategies. The unified platform enables CSX to optimize operations and improve productivity.

The initiative represents one of the largest deployments of its type in the transportation and logistics sector, according to the press release announcement. Infosys worked with Microsoft on design and architecture planning, including early access to Microsoft Fabric features.
