CPI Aerostructures, Inc. (NYSE American: CVU) announced it received a fully definitized contract from L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) valued at $13.6 million to deliver airborne pod structures for the Next Generation Jammer Low Band program.
The contract covers delivery of operational prototype pods to the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command for fleet assessment, as well as additional test assets for airworthiness and design verification. The contract supersedes a previously announced undefinitized contract action that carried a not-to-exceed value of $12.1 million.
The NGJ-LB pods are designed to fly on the EA-18G Growler aircraft and are part of the Navy's plan to replace the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System. CPI Aero said it recently delivered the first test article to L3Harris and has been providing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly engineering support since the program began in late 2024.
"Working with our newest customer, L3Harris, on this transformational program has been rewarding. Knowing that our NGJ Low Band pods will join our NGJ Mid Band pods flying on every EA 18G Growler—supporting a mission that is critical to joint and coalition armed forces—makes this milestone especially meaningful," said Dorith Hakim, President and CEO of CPI Aero.
According to a press release statement, CPI Aero reported a funded backlog of remaining performance obligations exceeding $95 million and an unfunded backlog of $400 million, bringing its total backlog to $495 million.
