Blue Moon Metals awards EPC contract, clears final Norway permits

Blue Moon Metals Inc. (TSXV: MOON) (NASDAQ: BMM) has awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction contract for the processing plant at its Nussir copper-silver-gold project in Hammerfest Municipality, Norway, and received two regulatory approvals that the company says complete its permitting framework for the project.

The EPC contract was awarded to Momek Services AS, part of Momek Group, a Norwegian industrial company headquartered in Mo i Rana with more than 600 employees and annual revenue of approximately €100 million. The contract covers detailed design, building construction, equipment foundations, structural steel, piping, and installation of company-supplied equipment.

The Norwegian Environment Agency approved the project's Mine Waste Management Plan in the second quarter of 2026 and issued an amendment to the discharge permit, originally granted in January 2016. According to the press release, this approval satisfies the last outstanding regulatory condition precedent to the commencement of mine operations.

On June 18, 2026, the Norwegian Directorate of Mines approved an updated mine operating plan for the Nussir project under the Minerals Act. The plan covers technical details for both operation and closure of the mine.

Blue Moon also reported that underground development at the Nussir site has exceeded 2,000 meters, with more than 1,000 meters completed since January 2026. The conveyor tunnel linking the decline to the orebody and the silo tunnel have been completed, allowing construction of the ore conveyor system to begin.

CEO Christian Kargl-Simard stated: "With our permitting framework now complete, our long-lead equipment on order, our mine decline advancing to the orebody, and our key construction contracts in place, we are on track to deliver production later in 2027."

The EPC award is consistent with the execution plan outlined in the company's April 2026 feasibility study, which targets full-scale construction and production in the fourth quarter of 2027.
