Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: BIO and BIO.B) announced that Alice N. Schwartz, the company's co-founder and Director Emeritus, died on September 25, 2025, at age 99.
Schwartz co-founded Bio-Rad in 1952 in Berkeley, California, with her husband David Schwartz after graduating with a biochemistry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. The company develops and manufactures products for life science research and clinical diagnostics markets, serving universities, research institutions, hospitals, biopharmaceutical companies, and various laboratories.
