Benchmark Electronics appoints Chuck Swoboda to board of directors

Benchmark Electronics Inc. (NYSE: BHE) announced the appointment of Charles "Chuck" Swoboda to its board of directors, according to a company statement.



Swoboda previously served as chairman and CEO of Cree Inc., where he led the company's growth from $177 million to $1.6 billion in revenue. During his tenure at Cree, he oversaw the launch of thousands of products and helped secure over 5,000 patents, including 24 as co-inventor.



The appointment adds expertise in semiconductors, manufacturing, and global operations to Benchmark's board. Swoboda brings more than 30 years of experience in technology and manufacturing leadership.



"Chuck is a visionary leader whose track record in scaling advanced technology businesses and driving innovation aligns perfectly with Benchmark's strategic direction," said Jeff Benck, president and CEO of Benchmark.



Swoboda currently serves on the board of Ryder System Inc. (NYSE: R) and has held board positions at Anixter International and Vesper Technologies. He also serves as innovator-in-residence at Marquette University and authored "The Innovator's Spirit." He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University.



Benchmark provides engineering, design, and manufacturing services across aerospace and defense, advanced computing, industrial, medical, and semiconductor capital equipment sectors. The company operates facilities in seven countries.
