Azio AI Holdings names South Texas compute campus Atlas One
Azio AI Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AZIO) announced the formal naming of Atlas One, the first development phase of its Project Atlas compute infrastructure campus in South Texas, according to a company press release.
The site spans more than 548 acres and is engineered for up to 500 MW of planned behind-the-meter power capacity, though that figure is additional to, and not inclusive of, the approximately 11 MW of behind-the-meter natural gas generation secured to date. The planned 500 MW has not been secured, activated, or contracted, and will require additional generation, equipment, permitting, financing, and customer commitments.
Approximately 6 MW of compute infrastructure is currently activated at the site, forming part of the secured 11 MW. That deployment, consisting of Bitcoin mining hardware, has recorded approximately 97.8% uptime over the measured period. The company stated the figure is not a service level commitment and does not represent availability for AI or high-performance computing workloads. As of the announcement date, the company has no contracted AI hosting capacity at Atlas One.
Estimated power costs at the site's mining deployment are near $0.03 per kilowatt-hour. The company has committed approximately $2.4 million for dedicated enterprise fiber connectivity under a Master Services Agreement with AT&T.
Chief Executive Officer Chris Young stated: "The reason we started with behind-the-meter generation is simple. Everyone in this industry is chasing GPUs. The real bottleneck is energized power, and if you are waiting on utility capacity you are waiting years."
Near-term priorities include completing infrastructure for the initial 11 MW phase, advancing natural gas pipeline and metering work, and pursuing customer hosting agreements. Subsequent phases are intended to support AI and GPU hosting and high-performance computing, while retaining capacity for company-operated Bitcoin mining.
Azio AI Holdings was formerly known as Envirotech Vehicles, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVTV).
