Astro Shapes appoints Carol Jackson as chief executive officer

Astro Shapes, a manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions, has appointed Carol Jackson as chief executive officer, according to a company statement.
Jackson previously served as president, chairman and CEO of HarbisonWalker International, now part of Calderys. She was also vice president of bar, wire and strip business units at Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE: CRS) and spent over 12 years at PPG Industries (NYSE: PPG) in various leadership roles.
Jackson currently serves on the boards of AZZ Inc. (NYSE: AZZ) and Sensient Technologies Corporation (NYSE: SXT). She holds a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh, a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business, and a bachelor's degree from Duquesne University.
Astro Shapes is a portfolio company of Wynnchurch Capital, L.P. Carl Howe, managing director at Wynnchurch Capital, said Jackson's leadership experience makes her qualified to guide the company's growth initiatives.
Founded in 1971 and based in Struthers, Ohio, Astro Shapes manufactures aluminum extrusions for residential and commercial building products, recreational vehicles and industrial applications. The company serves customers across the Midwest and Northeast United States.
Wynnchurch Capital is a private equity firm headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, that manages $8.6 billion in regulatory assets under management and focuses on middle-market companies in the United States and Canada.
