Alto Neuroscience adds Raymond Sanchez to board of directors

Alto Neuroscience Inc. (NYSE: ANRO) appointed Raymond Sanchez, M.D., to its board of directors, effective August 12, 2025, according to a company statement.



Sanchez brings more than 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry. He currently serves as a senior advisor at Bain Capital Life Sciences since September 2024. Previously, he worked as chief medical officer at Cerevel Therapeutics Holdings Inc. from January 2019 until the company's acquisition by AbbVie Inc. in August 2024.



From November 2007 to January 2019, Sanchez held various positions at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization Inc., most recently as senior vice president of global clinical development. He also served as chief medical officer of Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc. from June 2018 to January 2019.



Sanchez currently sits on the board of directors of Rapport Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: RAPP) since November 2024 and serves on boards of several privately held biotechnology companies. He completed psychiatry training at Yale School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident, fellow, and instructor.



Alto Neuroscience develops precision medicines for neuropsychiatric disorders using its Precision Psychiatry Platform, which analyzes brain biomarkers through EEG activity, neurocognitive assessments, and wearable data. The company's clinical pipeline includes drug candidates for bipolar depression, major depressive disorder, treatment-resistant depression, and schizophrenia.



The company plans to initiate a Phase 2b trial of ALTO-207, according to the statement.
