Algonquin Power names Peter Norgeot as chief operating officer

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (TSX/NYSE: AQN) appointed Peter Norgeot as chief operating officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement.



Norgeot joins Algonquin after retiring as COO from Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR). He will oversee the company's electric, gas and water regulated utility operations, capital execution and operational excellence initiatives.



The executive brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in the utility sector. At Entergy, he led generation, transmission and distribution operations across multiple jurisdictions and helped develop a multi-year capital plan exceeding $30 billion focused on operational and capital efficiency improvements.



"Pete is a proven utility executive with deep commercial acumen and experience driving operational performance, capital discipline, and organizational accountability across complex, multi-jurisdictional regulated businesses," said Rod West, Algonquin's chief executive officer.



In his new role, Norgeot will focus on improving safety, standardizing enterprise systems and achieving performance consistency. The appointment reflects Algonquin's emphasis on operational excellence and disciplined capital deployment as the company advances its strategic priorities.
