AWS and Salesforce expand collaboration with new AI integrations

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Salesforce announced an expanded collaboration aimed at connecting their platforms through a series of new integrations targeting enterprise workflows, data access, and voice capabilities, according to a joint statement from the companies.

The announcements include making Salesforce data available within Amazon Q, bringing AWS agents into Slack, expanding zero-copy data access to additional AWS data services, broadening model choice for Agentforce through Amazon Bedrock, and enabling real-time voice interoperability between Agentforce Voice and Amazon Connect.

On the data side, Salesforce Data Cloud's zero-copy capabilities now extend to AWS Glue-managed Apache Iceberg tables, S3-backed Apache Iceberg tables, Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, and SageMaker Lakehouse. These additions build on existing support for Amazon Redshift and Amazon S3.

Agentforce customers can now access foundation models from Anthropic and Nvidia through Amazon Bedrock, with OpenAI models described as coming soon. Amazon Bedrock enforces zero data retention, meaning no customer data is stored or used for model training. Salesforce's Trust Layer adds dynamic grounding and toxicity detection, with compliance covering HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2, and ISO 42001.

AWS agents, beginning with the AWS DevOps Agent, are now available inside Slack, with plans to expand to AWS Security Agent, AWS FinOps Agent, and AWS Partner Central agents.

For voice, Agentforce Voice and Amazon Connect will communicate through real-time bidirectional audio over WebSockets using Agent2Agent protocol support. Separately, Salesforce developed a voice dictation feature for Slack using speech models optimized on AWS Trainium chips.

"The companies moving fastest and delivering differentiation with AI are the ones building on their own data, with the applications and cloud infrastructure they already trust," said Rahul Pathak, VP of Data and AI GTM at AWS.

Nick Johnston, EVP of Global Partnerships at Salesforce, said the collaboration extends Salesforce's business context "into the surfaces teams rely on daily."
