ATRenew appoints JD.com director Yue Teng to board

ATRenew Inc. (NYSE: RERE) announced the appointment of Yue Teng as a new board member and compensation committee member, effective immediately. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Mervin Ye Zhou.
Teng serves as a director in JD.com's Strategic Investment Department (NASDAQ: JD), where he oversees investments in logistics and industrial property sectors. He joined JD.com in August 2021 after working as an associate in the Real Estate Investment team at Hony Capital and as a portfolio manager at Goldstream Investment from May 2018 to August 2021.
Prior to that role, Teng worked as a vice president at Amundi Smith Breeden from September 2013 to April 2018. He holds a bachelor's degree in management science in operations research from Fudan University and a master's degree in engineering management with a focus on financial engineering from Duke University.
The company also appointed Rui Zhu as a new member of the nominating and corporate governance committee. Following Teng's appointment, ATRenew's board consists of eight members: Kerry Xuefeng Chen, Yongliang Wang, Chen Chen, Yue Teng, Shuangxi Wu, Jingbo Wang, Guoxing Jiang and Rui Zhu.
"We believe Mr. Teng will bring deep strategic insights that will further strengthen our ongoing collaboration with JD.com," said Kerry Xuefeng Chen, the company's founder, chairman and chief executive officer.
Shanghai-based ATRenew operates technology-driven recycling and trade-in solutions for consumer products in China. The company went public in 2021 and has been operating since 2011.
