Global Equities analyst Trip Chowdhry posted a second update today on Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA), as he continues to defends the stock after the recent sell-off.
Chowdhry provided a comprehensive view on Quarterly shipment schedules from Tesla Factory to Customers:
- First cars that come out of the Assembly Line are shipped to Australia and China
- Then the cars that come out of the Assembly Line are Shipped to Europe
- Then the Cars that come out of the Assembly Line are shipped to East Cost and Canada
- And after that the Cars that come out of the Assembly Line are shipped to California
He notes, "Once the Car shipment leaves the TSLA Factory in Fremont. it usually takes between 8 weeks to 10 weeks for the car to reach the end customer in Australia and China
TSLA recognizes revenues when the car is delivered to the end customer. Hence, usually in the first 2 months of the quarter many Tesla Cars are in transit and it is usually the 3rd month of the quarter when the customer actually gets the Car.
Hence the 3rd month of the Quarter is extremely strong and the drop from 3rd month of the quarter to 1st month of the next quarter is normal. Please note, Telsa does not publish monthly sales....."
The analyst maintained an Overweight rating and price target of $385 on TSLA.
