Oppenheimer & Co. analyst Ittai Kidron said Monday that Research in Motion Ltd. (NASDAQ: RIMM) will sell 100,000 units of its forthcoming Playbook tablet device during the company's fiscal fourth quarter, from December to February.
Kidron expects several different price points for the devices varying models with an average selling price of $525, which should add about 2 cents to the company's bottom line for the fiscal year ending in February.
Kidron also estimates that RIM will sell 3.2 million units in fiscal 2012, and based on this he has raised his earnings estimate for 2012 from $6.60 per share to $7.15 per share.
In comparison, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) sole 4.19 million units of is iPad in it most recent quarter alone.
Oppenheimer maintains a Perform rating on RIM.
