RBC Capital analyst, Mitch Steves, reiterated his Outperform rating on shares of NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) noting 4 key points:
1) gaming chip demand remains healthy given crypto-currency miners likely made it difficult to acquire chips
2) some lingering demand remains from cypto-currencies ~$40-45M thus far assuming similar demand based on the Ethereum network rate
3) the Company highlighted the Toyota win which suggests positive momentum for CY18 and beyond - units in 2018/2019 with notable ASP hikes towards the tail end
4) the Volta product is beginning to ramp with card replacements now and we believe DGX-1V will pick up through the quarter
The analyst stated "we think the most positive item is the continued demand for gaming chips (a near-term investor concern) along with the note about initial Volta shipments in the filing".
