CapitalOne analyst Connor Murphy reiterated an Overweight rating and $630.00 price target on HubSpot Inc (NYSE: HUBS).

The analyst comments "The big news on the financial front came from margin disclosures. 1) HubSpot disclosed that it is tracking ahead of its 2Q adj operating margin target of 16.6% - 16.7% (COSe 16.8%); 2) HubSpot increased its 2026 adj operating margin target from 18% - 20% in 2026 to 20% - 22% in 2027 (COSe was previously at 18% and now 20%), and raised their long-term operating margin from 20% - 25% to 25% (COSe was previously 23% in 2030 and now 26%). HubSpot would not give any early indication on 2025 margins, but did say we shouldn't expect a straight line to 2027, so we would expect potentially heavier investment next yr (we were expecting 100bps contraction to 16% in 2025 heading into the event). HubSpot plans to gain leverage in its model mainly from S&M and G&A through scale, but expects R&D as a percent of rev to remain relatively consistent and cost of rev to have some optimizations offset by increased investment (we expect it to continue to decline to ~83% over time). S&M leverage will be 1) digital-driven by expanding their low CAC freemium funnel and reducing friction for purchases and upgrades (Starter product had 21k customers in 2019 and 110k+ customers at the end of 2Q); 2) repdriven through AI & systems productivity improvements and higher ASPs through platform sales; and 3) partner-driven through growing partner sales and service attach rates while giving incentives and demonstrating customer value."
