Argus analyst John Staszak upgraded Centene (NYSE: CNC) from Hold to Buy with a price target of $80.00.
The analyst commonest "Centene is the largest Medicaid managed care organization and largest provider of individual health insurance policies in the U.S. It appears positioned to reach its prior margin targets over the next few years as Medicaid margins bottom and higher premiums for Marketplace and Medicare Advantage policies restore profitability to these businesses. The balance sheet is clean and the company has spent more than $3 billion on share buybacks in recent years.
From a technical standpoint, the shares have been in a bullish pattern of higher highs and higher lows since February 2026. Fundamentally, the shares are trading at historically high multiples, which appear justified by the company's stable revenue stream and consistent earnings growth.
Longer term, we view an investment in CNC shares as an opportunity to participate in the growth of the health services industry and, as such, our long-term (five-year) rating is also."
